Lot of buzz about new ASHTO guidelines here & here helping the engineers build forgivable roads for America’s aging population. The mantra is to build them in a manner the title of the post suggests. Since wider & more forgivable roads make it easy for you to be a lousy driver, how will regular drivers react? As some suggest, these highways built in our urban spaces may in fact give drivers a false sense of security ensuring the road is unsafe for anyone even those in automobiles.
